Philippe Coutinho has agreed personal terms to join Catalan club Barcelona, this is according to emerging reports.
Despite signing Ousmane Dembele from Borrussia Dortmund in a record deal last summer, Barcelona have remain firm in pursuit of Liverpool’s playmaker Coutinho.
Barcelona made up to the three offers to Liverpool last summer and the last one was in the excess of £100million but the Reds rebuffed all their offers. The Brazilian midfielder even told Jurgen Klopp of his desire to move to Spain but all his efforts ended in futility.
According to AS, the 25-year-old has agreed personal terms with Barcelona on a five-year deal. However, the completion of the deal is dependent on Liverpool accepting offers for him.
Earlier this week, Nike featured a mock up photo of Coutinho wearing a Barcelona kit and that stirred rife reports a deal is imminent. Barcelona are still desperate to sign the player who is believed to be the perfect replacement for the aging Andreas Iniesta.
Liverpool have spent £70m on a signing in this window already but they are expected to recoup more of the funds from the sale of Coutinho. Barcelona are expected to approach Liverpool with a whopping £142million and that should be enough to convince the Reds.
However, the Reds are not expected allow Coutinho leave this January, but a deal in the summer is realistic.
