One of the reasons for that has left the Gunners without the Premier League trophy over the last decade is Arsene Wenger’s inability to retain some of his key players. Time was when Arsenal allowed Cesc Fabregas, Sami Nasri, Roben Van Persie and even Thierry Henry to depart our ranks before the twilight of their career and they went on to win trophies for their various Clubs.
Arsene Wenger must have learnt a great deal of lesson from that. Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez have been arguably our best players but the stars have stalled over new contract with us. Nonetheless, according to emerging report, Sanchez has provisionally a three-year deal that will see his wage doubled to £280k-a-week.
Sanchez will be out of his current contract at the end of next season and the player had refused to sign a new deal with claims that he wants a huge pay rise. Arsenal failed to qualify for the Champions League and it was believed that he would move to a new Club that plays in the Champions League – if this report is true, then he’ll remain at the Emirates for the foreseeable future.
The report claims an announcement over this deal will be made in a fortnight and that of Mesut Ozil and others is expected to follow. The only way Arsenal would remain strong is to retain their players and bolster the squad with quality players.
Wenger is expect to approach the transfer market when it comes alive later this month.
