Arsenal star Jack Wilshere has returned to full match fitness, afterfeaturing for the Gunners in their recent one-nil win over Red Star Belgrade in the Europa league. The player has been out injured for months, but after weeks of rehabilitation that saw Wenger deploy him in only Europa league and Carabao cup games, reports indicate that he is set to be reintroduced into Premier league football sooner than was initially expected.
Having played for 90 full minutes against the Europa league side and impressing in an advanced midfield role, it is believed that he is ready for his full EPL return.
Wenger voiced his concern over a knock he may have received during the Europa league game. As per Arsenal FC’s official website, he said:
“He will surely get a chance in the Premier league. I think at the moment it’s going like that. He got a big kick in the first half on his ankle but he managed to get through the 90 minutes, and games of that intensity will surely help him a lot.”
Arsenal’s progress into the knockout stages of the Europa league is almost guaranteed, given their nine-point haul from the first round of group games.
Last weekend’s loss to Watford in the EPL would probably have seen the 25 year-old midfielder feature since his return from injury; but for Laurent koscielny’s injury, which saw coach Arsene Wenger feature Rob Holding instead.
