Arsenal head of recruiting Sven Mislintant has earned so much plaudit for being able to broker the Aubameyang transfer deal for the Gunners but it appears that the man is bent on revolutionizing the transfer policy of the London club.
According to reports, Arsenal are heavily linked with a move for Andrija Zivkovic of Benfica and they are weighing in on a deal for the star.
Zivkovic has been on the transfer radar of Arsenal for quite some time and move in the summer has now been mooted for him. The Gunners scouts were in Portugal to watch the 21-year-old Serbian as he played from the middle of the pack and coordinated proceedings from there as they thrashed Rio Ave, according to O’Jogo.
Zivkovic joined Benfica in the summer of 2016 from Serbian Club Partizan Belgrade on a five year deal and he is gradually becoming a midfield force to be reckoned with.
Knowing fully well his bogus release clause of £52.5million, Arsenal have been on his case since last summer and they may realise the dream of signing him in the summer, claims the report.
Arsenal are somewhat short of midfielders at the moment – the sale of Francis Coquelin and the injury of Santi Cazorla means Arsenal must sign a midfielder in the summer and Zivkovic may just be the man.
