North Londoners Arsenal have been pipped heavily in the race to sign promising goalkeeper Brazao by Serie A top dog Inter Milan.
Arsenal are in the market for a player who can be trusted between the sticks and spark a healthy rivalry with Bernd Leno.
Veteran goalkeeper Petr Cech has flagged that he is leaving the football scene at the end of the season. And with that already on the cards for the 36-year-old, the Gunners are scouring for a replacement.
They had hoped to snatch Brazao from the tight grips of Inter when the Nerazzurri offered to sign the youngster. According to Italian publication Calciomercato.com, it claimed that last week, Gunners had sweeten the kitty, asking Brazao to join them, only to be turned down by the Brazil international.
The 18-year-old is now set to join Inter Milan as his camp and Inter enter the final stages of a 3-million euros deal
The youngster is set to arrive at the San Siro in the coming days. But his debut for the Italian side will have until in the summer when Inter can accept non-European players. For now, Brazao will be farmed out to Verona first. The Cruzeiro native will later join the Serie A giants once the club have cleared up some space to receive him in the summer.
