Ajax wonderkid Ki Jana Hoever was reportedly given the go ahead to kick off his career at Liverpool.
The 16-year-old, who agreed to join the Reds in August, but his transfer was reportedly held up due to paperwork.
The highly rated youngster star was a hot stock in the transfer market, reportedly chased by big clubs such as Manchester United, Manchester City and Chelsea, but waved off interests from this top clubs to join Liverpool.
Now, the 16-year-old has been officially confirmed as a Reds player. The news was officially announced by Jack Lusby.
The youngster who is well-known for his versatility on the pitch, can play both as a centre-back and a right-back.
Barry Lewtas under-18 UEFA Youth manager expressed his delight over the youngster’s move. He said: “It’s great for him. He’s a good boy. They’re young lads and they just want to play.
“I spoke to him this morning and he’s over the moon that he’s now available.
“His journey begins now because he can train and try and force his way into the team. It’s really exciting for us.”
Hopefully, the 16-year-old will blossom into a great player at Anfield.
Liverpool academy squad has a fine blend of locals and recruits currently, who are not Merseysiders or from England, which is likely to create a bounce off between the players.
