Liverpool have officially announced the signing of English-born Nigerian international striker Rinsola Babajide from League side Watford Ladies.
The 19-year-old star started her career with Crystal Palace Ladies before she moved to Millwall Lionesses Ladies in the January of 2015 – she went on to make her professional debut in football on March 18 against the London Bees and her stock has ever been increasing since then.
She has been wooed by the Nigerian Football Federation in a bid to get her to player for the female national team of the country.
Babajide is fondly remembered for finding the back of the net 14 times when she starred for the University of East London team against the University College, London in 2016.
After completing the move, Babajide revealed that she cannot wait to get started for Liverpool.
“I am absolutely delighted to be joining a club as big as Liverpool Ladies and cannot wait to get started. This is a huge opportunity for me to make the step up to FA WSL1 and I am really excited to meet my new teammates.
“I have really enjoyed my time at Watford Ladies but this is a massive opportunity for me to join a huge club who have established international players throughout the squad. I am really excited about the move and can’t wait to pull on the red shirt for the first time.” according to Liverpoolfc.
She joined Liverpool from Watford, where she was joint highest goal scorer with three goals in nine games.
