Gonzalo Higuain will stay at Chelsea for the next six months. His arrival means Blues playmaker Eden Hazard won’t play deeper, and would see a return to the left wing where he has always played in from.
Chelsea have lacked quality up front since Alvaro Morata and Olivier Giroud could not produce the goods.
Chelsea threw the kitchen sink at Juventus and AC Milan to force a sanctioned move for the prolific Argentina international. With the move now through, Hazard believes the 31-year-old get help them win major trophies this term.
The 28-year-old compared Higuain to former Chelsea striker Diego Costa. Costa was a menace, spearheading Blues frontline during Antonio Conte’s regime, and Hazard is confident Higuain, a good crop, will solve Chelsea’s problems at the front.
He said: “I like to play with top, top players. At Chelsea I was able to play with one of the best in Costa for three years. I think Higuain is one of the best at the moment.
He added:“He has scored a lot of goals. When you see his career he has done it everywhere, Real Madrid, Napoli and Juventus. I think he can do the same here.
“This season we have been playing good but we missed the guy to score just one goal. ”
