Toffees Everton have completed a season-long loan deal to sign Chelsea defender Kurt Zouma this summer.
The Merseysiders submitted a deal sheet before the 5pm deadline on Thursday.
Manchester United target and Colombian defender Yery Mina has also joined the club on loan from Catalans.
United led throughout the race for the youngster signature, but were pipped at the post by Everton.
According to manager Marco Silva, the deal for Zouma was “almost done” on Friday.
The arrival of the pair, means gaps left from selling Ramiro Funes Mori and loaning out Ashley Williams, will be filled by both defenders.
Meanwhile, Valencia successfully dickered a loan deal for Belgian striker Mitchy Batshuayi, which will see him play at the Spanish outfit until the end of the season.
Mitchy scored a late winner against West Bromwich Albion that helped Chelsea clinch the 2016-2017 Premier League title, two years ago.
But his game time on the pitch has reduced drastically, and a loan move away from the club was suspected after boss Sarri admitted his squad was too large and he was willing to offload some sidelined players.
The Belgian move to Valencia would be his second loan spell, after spending the second half of last season at Borussia Dortmund.
