Chelsea have announced the transfer of Mario Pasalic to Russian side Spartak Moscow on a season-long loan deal.
The 22-year-old midfielder joined Premier League Champions Chelsea in the summer of 2014 after impressing with Hajduk Split. However, the Croatian has found it difficult to break into the first team of the Blues and impose himself as a first team player.
He has sojourned several clubs on loan including Elche, Monaco and AC Milan, and the recent loan spell to Spartak Moscow is his fourth since joining the Blues. However, before proceeding on the loan spell, Pasalic signed a four-year contract with the Blues, according to report.
He was on the radar of a host of English Clubs, but he opted to join the Russia side as he will be starring for them in the Champions League.
Confirming the report, Chelsea tweeted a congratulatory message to the player on their official twitter handed and caption it: “Congratulations and good luck at Spartak Moscow, Mario! ”
Pasalic is highly rated and his recent spell with AC Milan seem to have raised hope that the player will come good sooner. He scored five goals for the San Siro outfit last term in 27 appearances.
He was also involved in Chelsea’s pre-season tour against Arsenal, Bayern Munich and Inter Milan but he is yet to prove that he is ready for first team football under Conte.
