Arsenal goalie youngster Daniel Barden has signed for Norwich City.
The Hale End product signed a professional contract with Gunners in 2017, however, he has not been named in any league matches this term for Arsenal.
Barden has zero appearances in all competitions for Arsenal. But he has made seven appearances for the Gunners at the under-18 level, and was named on the bench for their clash against Chelsea in the FA Youth Cup,over both legs.
Before moving to Norwich, Barden attempted trials at Norwich City as a glovesman and was between the sticks when the club’s under 18 side was pipped heavily by Tottenham Hotspur.
Spur romped his side 7-0, and later suffered another huge loss to Preston North End in th FA Youth Cup.
Barden, again was between the sticks but couldn’t stop an excellent Preston side, who sailed comfortably on a 3-0 nil win.
It is understood the deal for his switch to Norwich City was stamped as sanctioned in November. Barden already has a player profile at the club, and has been given a shirt with the number 82 boldly printed at the back.
Barden’s move to Norwich will definitely add a huge boost to his career after seeing the arrival of Karl Hein and Arthur Okonkwo, push him further down the pecking order at the Emirates.
