Arsenal women have completed the signing of highly-rated French goalkeeper Pauline Peyraud-Magnin, this is according to reports.
The 26-year-old netminder joined Lyon in 2015, but she first broke in the first team squad of the side in the 2012-2013 season. She became a mainstay in the team of Lyon and has led them to several titles including the women’s Champions league last term.
She has also had spells at FF Issy, Saint Etienne and Marseille, with national call ups at u17, 19, 20 and B levels.
After signing a long term contract with Arsenal, she will play second fiddle to Sari van Veenendaal following the departure of Anna Moorhouse .
Confirming the report, Arsenal coach, Joe Montemurro said,
“Pauline has experienced playing against some of the best female footballers in the world. She has formed part of a squad who won three Women’s Champions League trophies and three domestic titles. As a young player, that is a huge achievement that says a lot about the quality of her skills and attributes as a goalkeeper.”
Arsenal women’s team have been doing well but they are hoping to do better next term.
