The deadline of the transfer window is approaching fast and Arsenal have a large headcount of players that will be cleared off the financial books of the club.
Arsenal have completed the transfer of English youngster Stephy Mavididi on a season long loan spell to Preston North End, this is according to report.
The 19-year-old striker is one of the most rated Arsenal academy players but given the cluster of top-notch striker at the club, he is unable to stake a claim in the first team of the Gunners, hence the decision to allow him further his development through a loan spell.
Mavididi spent some time with Charlton on a loan spell last season but the deal was scuppered by a hamstring injury he sustained just after five appearances. He returned to Arsenal and was subjected to a corrective operation but he’s back on his fit again.
The youngster has had a barnstorming pre-season, as he scored three goals in two appearances. He drew heavy interest from Championship sides but Alex Neil won the race for his signature and he will be hoping to impress at the club.
Confirming the move, Mavididi said:
“I’m delighted to get it over the line, I’m happy to sign and now I’m ready to kick on for the new season.
“I can’t wait to get started and I can’t wait to meet the lads and crack on – let’s go and do good things this season.
“I just want to put on that shirt and run out do well. I’m buzzing, I can’t wait to get started now.”
There is a handful of youngster who might be sent a loan. Kelechi Nwakali, Reiss Nelson and Bielik are on the list of players waiting to be loaned.
