Not Rodriguez: Colombian star sends “come-and-get-me plea” to Arsenal

Napoli forward Duvan Zapata has dropped a huge hint on his future. The Colombia international has hinted he would love to play in the Premier League one day, and has already picked his side. Chelsea and Manchester United seems fancy enough, but Arsenal is eye candy for the striker.

Zapata who is currently on loan to Serie A side Atalanta admitted he was in love with Arsenal.

With 20 appearances and still counting for Atalanta, the striker has been spot on in front of goal, netting 10 goals in the past seven games for the Serie A club.

Zapata, in a talks session with II Corriere della Sera, opened up about how he admired the Premier League, and his love for the English top-tier. He said: “I used to support one team for each league. I liked Inter colours but I was in love with Thierry Henry’s Arsenal.

“In Colombia we love Premier League. Who knows. One day I could play there.”

Arsenal already have the likes of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexander Lacazette who can deliver the goods in that berth, however, should Zapata join the Gunners he could bolster Emery’s attack.

Gunners also have an interest in signing Denis Suárez, and have reportedly made him their number priority this window, with talks still in the pipeline to sign him.
