Not Perisic: Club agree €48m fee for the transfer of highly-rated Man United target

On the assumption of the reigns of Manchester United, Jose Mourinho bemoaned the lack of quality in the team. He did not just bolster the squad of the Red Devils, players like Morgan Schneiderlin, Bastien Schweinsteiger, Memphis Depay,  and Victor Valdes were shown the exit of Old Trafford by the Portuguese manager.

Jose Mourinho started to rebuild the Red Devils squad last term, a feat he’s carried on in the transfer window this summer. United have added Victor Lindelof and Romelu Lukaku to his squad but he is still in the want of another player as he sets his sight on the Premier and Champions League.

While Ivan Perisic tops the transfer targets of Man United, they will reignite their interest in Portuguese and Bayern Munich star midfielder Renato Sanches, per reports.

Sanches switched Benfica for Bayern Munich last term but has has struggled to impose himself in the first team of the Bavarians, he had only six League starts for the Bundesliga holders last term. The recent signing of James Rodriguez from Real Madrid means he has fallen further down the selection pecking order, casting down over his future.

Man United have been linked with a plethora of defensive midfielders including Nemanja Matic of Chelsea and Tottenhams Eric Dier but the Premier League Clubs are unwilling to listen to offers from United. Mourinho is looking to fill the void left by the departure of Wayne Mourinho.

According to the Guardian, United are ready to swoop for Sanchez and offer him an escape route to Old Trafford to salvage his career. The player has been made available for £43m(48m) by Bayern Munich Club chief Karl-Heinz Rummenigge.
