Chelsea’s defeat to Burnley last week exposed the team and further validated Antonio Conte’s concerns over the level of preparedness of his side going into the new season. The Blues have lost Nemanja Matic to Man United and are also set to offload Diego Costa who has gone AWOL to his homeland Brazil.
Though the Blues have signed four players this summer, it is reported that Roman Abrahimovivh is ready to sanction over £100 million for new signings as they look to play competitively this season, however, the Blues have some good news since it is reported that Inter Milan have welcomed Chelsea’s overture moves towards their winger Antonio Candreva.
Daily Mirror reports that the Italian giants are willing to accept a bid in the region of £25 million for the 30-year-old who has over two years to run on his current contract with the Nerazzurri.
The winger can as well play from the midfield and would offer competition to Willian if he makes the move. Further reports suggest that Candreva is open to joining the Conte’s project if a solid offer is tabled for him.
Save for his age, this move should be considered as a good one since he recored 51 accurate crosses in the Seria A last term, only overshadowed by Alejandro Gomez (60).
Meanwhile Chelsea are also reported to be eyeing another Inter Milan player Ivan Perisic.
