With Jose Mourinho at the helms of Man United, possibilities abound in the transfer market.
Manchester United have had a long standing interest in Real Madrid’s winger Gareth Bale and report by the Express has indicated that there’s a secret agreement in place for the Wales international to switch the Santiago Bernabeu for Old Trafford next summer.
Bale became the most expensive footballer in the world in the summer of 2013 when Tottenham agreed a £85.3 million (€100 million) deal with Real Madrid for the player’signature. Despite his big money move, he has constantly being in the shadows of the Balon D’or holder Cristiano Ronaldo.
Bales has aided Los Blancos to winning eight trophies but all of the accolades have gun to Ronaldo – this has stirred widespread speculation that he could return to the Premier League sooner.
Spanish newspaper Don Balon claims that a secret agreement has been reached between Bale and the Red Devils. Bale is unsure of a starting berth at the Santiago Bernabeu and the imminent arrival of Kylian Mbappe may see him fall the selection pecking order of Zinedine Zidane.
Bale is believed to worth £90million and the funds recouped for him would be used to complete the transfer of Mbappe.
We cannot ascertain the veracity of this report because the player himself had dismissed reports linking him with a move back to the Premier League.
“The truth is that I do not read any of that. Logically I am a British player and I am always linked with a return home,” he told Marca when asked about United’s interest.
“It happened with Beckham, with other Englishmen who came to Spain. Nothing new.
“I am happy playing in Madrid, logically interest is interest, but if there has been nothing concrete, no offer, there is nothing to discuss.”
