The Premier League kick-offs in about a fortnight from today but the Clubs are still in the transfer window as they continue to search for players that will make their boxes thick.

Chelsea have had up to four new players this summer but Antonio Conte is poised to add one or two new signings to his otherwise very strong squad. According to the Express, the Blues boss made enquiries about Portuguese star and Bayern Munich midfielder Renato Sanches.

Renato Sanches had an eye-catching performance for the Portuguese national team in the Euro 2016 Championship and he caught the attention of the Bavarians. He was signed after the Championship in a deal believed to be about €35m. However, the 19-year-old has been a bit-part player under Carlo Ancelotti.

Sanches managed 25-appearances in all competitions for the Bundesliga holders and he has been linked with a move to Chelsea and Manchester United. Although, no offers have been made for the player, Chelsea have somewhat made their intentions known.

The Blues have signed on Tiemoue Bakayoko to partner Kante in midfield but the new boy is currently banjaxed with a knee injury, with Matic heavily tipped for a transfer, the Blues are threadbare in the middle of pack.

Meanwhile, Man United are also short of options in the midfield with the Red Devils heavily linked with Eric Dier and Matic. Sanches emerged on the transfer radar of Man United after the aforementioned players were denied move by their Clubs.

“There are at least 10 teams after Sanches,” CEO of Bayern Munich Karl-Heinz Rummenigge told Italian publication Gazzetta dello Sport.

“Conte asked for some information about him after Tuesday’s match because he knows he can make the difference on the pitch.

“Ancelotti was pleased with his performance against Chelsea so we can make some reasoning on him later.”
