Manchester United versatile defender Timothy Fosu-Mensah has revealed why he decided to joined Crystal Palace on loan, per reports.
The 19-year-star broke into the scene for United in the penultimate season under Dutch manager Luis Van Gaal where he had a fair share of cameos in the Premier League. Following his progress, Jose Mourinho also called him up last season as he started in four league games.
In a bid to accelerate his development, has has now joined Dutch manager Frank De Boer at Selhurst Park where he is expected to play regularly for the side. The player made bare his mind to Press Association Sport on making the move.
“It’s fine because you’re surrounded by great players,” he said.
“Every day, in and out, you train with great players. You develop every day with these great players.
“I just want to develop, keep developing. I am young so I try to work on my weaker stuff and to become a better and complete player. I need a bit of experience, things like concentration, touches, communicating on the pitch.”
Mensah can play as a centre-back, right wing back or even a defensive midfielder but Jose Mourinho has already signed top-notch players in the area in which he fill comfortable playing. His best bet at playing regularly is away from United.
Fosu-Mensah has showed flashes of brialliance and playing regularly in the Premier League is sure to give him the experience to become a world class player. He hope to see him come good.
He joins Cameron Borthwick Jackson on loan but Mourinho is still in the market to sign players that can slot into the first team of his squad.
