The Arsenal fans who were hoping to see Barcelona midfielder Arda Turan at the Emirates stadium are sure to be disappointed with this latest report.
Turan’s agent has posited that his client is going nowhere this summer, further suggesting that the Turkish international would stick to the terms of his contract with Barcelona.
Turan still has three years to run on his current contract but it is reported that the Catalans are keen on selling him as he is considered surplus to requirement at The Camp Nou. Ernesto Valverde appears not to have Turan in his plans for next season and a host of clubs have reportedly circled for the midfielder’s signature.
Arsenal have been mooted to be on the player’s case as well as Turkish side Besiktas. However, he is staying
“everything is the same “for the star who joined Barca in the summer of 2015.
“Arda has a three year contract and will be with Barcelona at the beginning of the preseason… Nothing has changed, everything is the same and Arda will fulfil his contract,” Bulut told NTV [via Sport].
Despite his agent’s claim, Turan knows which side of his bread is buttered and could likely leave for a club that offers him regular playing time that has eluded him thus far at Barcelona. He only made 14 starts in the La Liga last term, a record quite laughable of a player of his status.
He has been tracked by Arsenal for a while now but I doubt the Gunners would have an eye for him anymore due to being 30 years of age already.
