Not Belotti: Antonio Conte to sanction mammoth bid for Diego Costa’s replacement

Chelsea are interested in signing Borussia Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, according to reports.

The Premier League champions lost out on Romelu Lukaku to Manchester United and have now turned their attention to Aubameyang as they search for a goal poacher in the stead of the out-bound Diego Costa.

The Blues boss Antonio Conte is huge fan of the Gabon international and wants to bring him to the Stamford Bridge while he is also not relenting in his pursuit of Real Madrid forward Alvaro Morata, Sergio Aguerro and Torino’s Andrea Belotti.

Aubameyang has told Dortmund he wants to leave and the club are willing to let the 28-year-old move on this summer for the right offer to the tune of £70m.

Italian club AC Milan and Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain have already opened talks with him. He was also linked with a move to Chinese club Tianjin Quanjian but the deal fell through last week.

However, Dortmund chief executive Hans-Joachim Watzke claim the club is yet to receive an offer for the prolific forward.

“We will wait a few more days but not long anymore,” he said. “I would personally prefer if he stays, but there are a few clubs on this planet where he can obviously earn more.”

It is understood that the German club want Aubameyang’s future finalised before the start of their training camp in Switzerland on July 24.

Aubameyang led in the Bundesliga last season in terms of goals with 31 goals in 32 games and netted 40 times across all competitions.
