Chelsea versatile midfielder Ruben Loftus Cheek will undergo a medical today in a bid to complete a season long loan move to Crystal Palace, reports Skysports.
The midfielder is set to become the first summer signing of Frank De Boer after beating Newcastle United, Southampton and Brighton the signature of the England youngster.
Loftus Cheek joined Chelsea as a teenager but was handed his Chelsea debut by Jose Mourinho in the 2014/2015 season. He went on the establish himself as a midfield prospect but the appointment of Guus Hiddink stalled his progress.
Also, since the Antonio Conte took charge of Chelsea, Loftus Cheek has played more in the training than in matches. Conte has deployed him as a supporting striker to Diego Costa. He managed six Premier League appearances for Chelsea last season.
Chelsea are on the cusps of signing Tiemoue Bakayoko from Monaco, this will see the chances of the 22-year-old only bleak. The Blues have also given Charly Musonda a new squad number which has been inferred to as a chance to play in the new season.
The best bet of Loftus-Cheek playing regularly is away from Stamford Bridge and so, the move is a good one for him.
The Selhurst Park outfit kick-off their Premier League campaign against newly promoted side Huddersfield Town on 12 August.
