Arsenal are weighing on a deal for Belgian and Genk £100 million-rated forward, Leandro Trossard, as claimed by his agent.
The Gunners have started the season brightly by their standard but the injury to Danny Welbeck has seemingly forced them to do business in the January transfer window.
Trossard, apparently, has ticked the fancy of Arsenal with his impressive form this term. He has scored 11 goals in 19 games for his club this term and the Gunners are looking to sign him.
Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Pierre-Emerick Aubamyang and Alex Iwobi have been left to play from the flanks this term but Iwobi is about the only player that is suited for the said role at the club.
The Gunners had tabled a bid for Ousmane Dembele on the closing day of the summer transfer window but their attempt at signing the French forward was met with stiff opposition.
However, the agent of Trossard, Josy Comhair, has claimed that he has been contacted by Arsenal and Tottenham over a move for the winger.
Comhair said: “I contacted representatives from Arsenal and Tottenham. At Spurs, nobody wanted to confirm that Trossard is an option, but Arsenal did.
“They told me Leandro has a very interesting profile for them and that they’ve been following him since August.
“They also added it was a good choice to stay at Genk for another year. They ended the phone call with ‘They are keeping a close eye on him’.”
If the 23-year-old star continues to improve upon his game, it would not be long before he is prised away from Genk
