Nani reveals differences between Jose Mourinho and Sir Alex Ferguson time at United

Former Manchester United winger Nani has revealed the difference between Sir Alex Ferguson and Jose Mourinho, according to reports.

Nani joined Manchester United in the summer of 2007 from Sporting CB and his spell with the Red Devils signified one of the best spell in the reign of the club. He won the Premier League with United three times, and was a key figure in the United team that conquered the Champions league in 2008.

Sir Alex Ferguson dominated the Premier League before he left and United were known for an attacking style that utilises the flanks. Under Mourinho, we have seen a very conservative Man United side that may not even be able to conquer the whole of Europe.

Nani is currently lacing his boots for Sporting Lisbon, he was featured against the Gunners in the Europa League on Thursday night. The Portuguese winger has revealed the difference between Jose Mourinho’s style and Mourinho’s.

“It’s different times you know,” Nani told Sky Sports following Sporting Lisbon’s draw with Arsenal.

“A different coach, different players, a different mentality.

“The attitude is not the same. Before, we used to sometimes not play good football but at the end we would show something no one team could do.

“The last 15 minutes was always ‘attack, attack, attack.’

“I remember the fans shouting that.

“But they still have great players, time to work on it, and a great manager.”
