Lyon’s midfielder Nebil Fekir has continued to be linked with a move away from the French outfit after a botched summer move to Anfield this campaign.
Chelsea have been credited with a deep interest in the midfielder with boss Maurizio Sarri keen to add more depth in his squad.
The Frenchman saw his move to Liverpool collapse this summer following medical complications. Though Reds tried to pull a stunt, again, in the summer for the midfielder’s transfer, after killing the deal earlier. But it is Real Madrid who have toppled the Premier League leaders in the chase for the goalscoring midfielder.
Madrid are rumoured to be leading the pack in the race for the Lyon attacker after Lyon have sounded out his availability to the La Liga outfit, reports the Metro.
Fekir has over 18 months left on his contract at Lyon and has racked up 49 goals in 186 appearances under his belt for the club.
Madrid need a man who can salvage them from their horrific problems and Fekir fits the bill. Though the Champions League winner are still considering a move to sign Chelsea’s Eden Hazard, and they have been hugely tipped to land him, nonetheless, luring Fekir away should Hazard surprise everyone by staying at Chelsea, could be their best option.
Real Madrid are off the pace from where they were last season, during this festive period.
