Chelsea are frontrunners for the signature of Polish and Genoa centre-forward Krysztof Piatek, this is according to reports.
Piatek joined Seria A club Genoa only last summer from Polish side Cracovia and he has been displaying impressive form. The 23-year-old striker scored 21 goals in 36 games for his former club last season but he has so far scored eight goals in six league games, drawing the attention of top European clubs.
Dubbed as the “new Robert Lewandowski”, Piatek ability to hold on to the ball and shot accuracy makes him a handful for most opposing defenders. He has the capacity to score a so many goals like he’s already showed glimpses of quality.
Chelsea have impressed so far this season but the poor form of their strikers leaves so much to be desired. They are one of the favourites for the title but many have tipped them to end the season behind Liverpool and Man City.
According to ReadChelsea, Tottenham, Liverpool and Everton have all been linked with a move for the player but Chelsea are leading in his chase.
The striker joined Genoa for only a paltry fee of €4 million but if he maintains his form, he could cost the excess of €50million.
Chelsea have depended on Eden Hazard to score most of their goals but if he form dips, it could affect the club’s campaign.
