Morata benched, Rudiger & Batshuayi starts in 3-4-3 probable Chelsea line-up vs Burnley

Chelsea begin their title defense campaign today as they host the Lancashire club to a Stamford Bridge clash. On paper, Chelsea are favourites to come-off the game with three points but it is the Premier League you know, anything can happen.

The Blues go into the game on the backdrop of a defeat to Arsenal in the Community Shield and not so much is going well for Antonio Conte ahead of the campaign.

Conte has bolstered his squad ahead of the current campaign but the absence of Diego Costa from the squad is one that has not gone down well with the fans of the League holders. Alvaro Morata has joined Chelsea in the stead of Costa but the Spaniard has come under serious scrutiny following his poor show-off against Arsenal.

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte confirmed the absence of Pedro Rodriguez from the squad that will face Burnley as the Spaniard sustained an ankle injury against Arsenal last Sunday.

Eden Hazard is still in the recovery pane after undergoing a successful knee surgery. He is still a couple of weeks away from first team action.

Despite being injured, Chelsea signed French star Tiemoue Bakayoko from Monaco. He has not returned to full training and he will not be back into full action this month.

Meanwhile, Diego Costa remains on the financial books of Chelsea. He remains exiled in Brazil and training alone, while hoping that he will leave Chelsea in January.
