While Jose Mourinho has bemoaned the dearth of transfer activities by Manchester United, the headcount of his current squad may be reduced by one.
Belgium international and Manchester United versatile midfielder Marouane Fellaini is currently in talks with Turkish Club Galatasaray that will see the player switch Club, according to Sun.
Fellaini switched Goodison Park for Old Trafford in the summer of 2013 when David Moyes was the helms man of the Red Devils but since the departure of the Moyes, Fellaini has been reduced to a bit-part player for the Red Devils.
However, the Belgian midfield stalwart enjoyed what was dubbed an impressive season under Jose Mourinho last term. He featured in 28 Premier League games but most of his cameos were from the bench and it is claimed that the Portuguese tactician is pleased with him.
Man United have been heavily linked with a move for Eric Dier of Tottenham and Nemanja Matic – if any of the aforementioned player is signed, it will certainly push Fellaini further down the selection pecking order of United and the player is seeking to play regularly.
The Sporting director of Galatasaray Cenk Ergun firmly claimed talks are ongoing and player will leave Man United this summer.
Ergun told Turkish outlet Ajansspor : “Fellaini will leave Manchester United and he is now in our radar.
“We are in talks with Fellaini. We have made an approach, we are close and if we get Fellaini we will end our pursuit of [Villarreal’s Alfred] N’Diaye.
“We need a player like Fellaini who can move around in midfield.
If Fellaini leaves, it will force Ed Woodward to sanction a deal for Matic or Dier as Mourinho is currently short of options in midfield..
