Mesut Ozil has tacitly appealed to Unai Emery to always play him on his favourite no.10 role.
Arsenal have improved marginally since the arrival of Unai Emery but the Spanish manager has revealed he would used Ozil in different roles.
In the Gunners last two games, Ozil has been played on the flank, with Aaron Ramsey chosen to play as the no.10 and that has affected the number of times the ex-Germany international gets on the ball.
Ozil was on the score-sheet for Arsenal in their win against Newcastle United last weekend but as usual, he was heavily criticised. Regardless, the 29-year-old has sent a message to Emery over his role at the club.
“The fans have backed me ever since I arrived five years ago and because of that, I’ve been able to play in my preferred style,” Ozil told Arsenal’s official website.
“I always want to control the game, give assists and help my team. It was like that with me from the start.
“In my position, you have many possibilities playing forward. You can demand the balls, make telling passes or score yourself.”
Arsenal have won their last two games in the Premier league away and they will be looking to replicate the same feat when they take on Everton this weekend at the Emirates.
Meanwhile, Arsenal take on Vorskla in the Europa Cup this weekend.
