Belgian centre-back Björn Engels has laid bare his desire to play for Arsenal, according to reports.
Engels joined Olympiacos in the summer of 2017 but he was sent to Reims on a season long loan spell last summer where he has been impressive.
The Gunners were expected to sign a centre-back this winter but Emery has prioritised the signing of the winger and they have been linked with a move for Denis Suarez.
Arsenal are one of the highest scoring clubs of the Premier league but ironically, they have one of the worst defences.
Even if they fail to sign a centre-back this window, they are likely to do same when the summer transfer window comes alive.
And speaking to L’Equipe, Engels has said he dreams of lacing his boots for Arsenal.
“Not right now, but if my level continues to rise, it will come,” he said.
“I’ve been there a couple of times in the past, maybe next time is the right one. Arsenal? It would be a dream. But playing in England, it would be already top.”
His wife is a supporter of Liverpool and he has claimed he could consider moving there if she desires.
“She’s from Liverpool and all her family is a fan of the Reds.
“When Everton was interested in me, she said to me laughing: Everton is ok, but never Man United!”
