Chelsea have agreed a deal with Juventus for the transfer of Gonzalo Higuain, this is according to emerging reports.
Higuain is currently on loan at AC Milan but following this agreement, his deal with the Milan based Serie A club will be cut short, reports the Guardian.
He will join Chelsea on a six months loan deal and the Blues have the option of signing the 31-year-old star on a permanent basis for £32.5 million (€36m) at the end of the season. Part of the agreement also include bonuses to be paid to Juventus as related to the number of appearances and goals scored.
He is due to arrive London today ahead of a medical with Chelsea, who are desperate about signing him for Maurizio Sarri.
The pair were together at Napoli where the Argentina enjoyed barnstorming form, with 71 goals in 104 League games. It appears that they are now set for a long awaited reunion at Stamford Bridge.
He was left out of Milan’s Supercoppa Italiana first team squad against Juventus. Although Rossoneri boss Gennaro Gattuso claimed he had fever, we know he was just marking time to leave the side.
His arrival will mark the end of the spell of Alvaro Morata, who has been heavily linked with a move to Sevilla. Chelsea are also looking to offloading Michy Batshuayi – valued at £40m ($51m).
