Manchester United midfielder Marouane Fellaini will join Chinese outfit Shandong Luneng, after the player passed a medical at thee Chinese club, according to Sky News.
But both clubs are understood to have reached a deal for the veteran midfielder.
Fellaini and Nemanja Matic were the backbone of Jose Mourinho’s midfielder before Paul Pogba was picked from Juventus two years ago.
It was understood the Belgium international was a favourite of Mourinho, even when his performance on the pitch reclined.
Fellaini was handed an extension over the summer which saw his stay at the club stretched until 2020.
The Belgian is a power figure at the middle of the park and has always managed to rise above cutting remarks, dressing up to his best on the field.
United have an option to further extend the midfielder stay until the next 12 months, but his inability to earn enough minutes on the pitch under caretaker manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has kept him out many of their matches this campaign, racking up just 61 minutes on the pitch.
Meanwhile, Solskjaer has down played talks suggesting Matteo Darmian and Andreas Pereira will be sold this month.
United remain unbeaten under Solskjaer since he took the reins of the club in December.
