Chelsea have really outdone themselves this first half of the season. And by a wide margin, they have shown they can bounce back to winning ways after their disappointing slump last season.
It was widely touted they could take further hit, when frustration billowed over the dismissal of then manager Antonio Conte.
Conte had led the club to Premier League triumph and FA Cup success during his two-year stretch at the club.
His second stint at the club ripped the club apart with some key players turning aggressively against him, and a continued sign of struggles on the pitch.
Sarri took the reins at the outfit, and magically reinvented the squad. Since taking over, the Blues are yet to lose a match in all competitions this term.
Their strength has been bolster with new recruits Mateo Kovacic and Jorginho. Ross Barkley and Ruben Loftus-Cheek saw their career take a huge boost under the Italian this term.
But there remains one berth in this squad that could ruin the fun if Chelsea cannot find the right candidate to fill in.
The Blues certainly pose a threat when driving forward, but recently have struggled to find the back of the net. Alvaro Morata and Olivier Giroud have seven goals between them, a disappointing tally for strikers.
It remains to be seen if the Blues will bring the right fit in January, with links to Genoa’s Krzysztof Piatek and Inter’s Mauro Icardi.
Blues legend Pat Nevin thinks Sarri will shop for a replacement by next season, however.
