The heavy doubts hanging over N’golo Kante’s future at Chelsea have been cleared after the midfielder penned a long-term deal with Chelsea, worth 290-000-pounds-a-week.
Kante has been the talk of news outlets, after reports linked Paris Saint-Germain with interest in the France international.
Manager Maurizio Sarri says he’s hugely delighted over the efforts made in the couple of weeks to convince the player of staying.
Kante is indispensable and Sarri has been quick in observing it as true.
Kante was the of Chelsea’s Premier League winning squad under Antonio Conte when he joined from Leicester City in 2016.
After his spectacular showoff in the World Cup for France, the 27-year-old was linked with a move to France. Big spenders Paris Saint-Germain were keen on baiting him away from Stamford Bridge, a move that was scuppered by Chelsea.
Sarri is hopeful Hazard will walk on the same path as Kante. Hazard has yet to pen a new deal with the club. His future remains up in the air. Kante’s wage makes him Chelsea highest earner for now.
“I don’t know about a new contract (for Eden). I don’t know About the evolution of a new contract, I think we can do it. I hope so.” Sarri said
It has been mooted Chelsea are willing to offer Hazard around 300,000-per-week, should he chose to remain at the outfit.
Real Madrid are in the running for the playmaker. The Belgian forward revealed his interest in playing for the club in the summer.
