Chelsea’s skipper Gary Cahill is free to leave Chelsea in January. The defender’s hardly played in the Premier League this term under Maurizio Sarri and it is understood he has grown frustrated of being snubbed by the Italian manager.
Cahill has been a regular figure however, in the Europa League and could be named in Chelsea line-up against Vidi on Thursday.
Whether he’s likely to return to the Premier League after sitting long hours on the bench hoping to feature not as substitute, it’s impossible to tell.
Sarri tactics is crying technicality over just being bulky and sturdy at the back. And that is lacking in Cahill’s game play.
If he remains at Chelsea, it is up to him, says Sarri, who has preferred playing David Luiz and Antonio Rudiger in the England international’s role this term.
Cahill is a well decorated Chelsea player, and the achievements he has had under his belt is deserving of accolades and admiration, reckons Sarri. However, “I have to do my job,” says the Italian tactician in a pre-match press conference.
Cahill is in the last year of his contract at Chelsea. He is a target for Unai Emery’s charge Arsenal, who have been hit with injury issues at the back this term.
