Maurizio Sarri phones play-maker over Chelsea move, assures him of role

Chelsea are reportedly said to be maintaining a strong interest in ditched Liverpool target Nabil Fekir.

Fekir was set to join Liverpool in the summer that just went by, but the deal was scuppered due to complications in his medical.

The Reds were keen on resurrecting their failed attempt to previously  sign him, but wanted to have him over on a cheap.

Lyon frowned at their new move, and lashed out at the Premier League outfit for complicating negotiations. The botched moved choked both outfits relationships, and Liverpool reportedly pulled the plugs on the transfer, with Lyon turning their backs eventually.

Fekir joining Liverpool, caused so much media hype, it was tipped the move was inevitable.

Liverpool signed in Xherdan Shaqiri later, after failed attempts to prise Nabil Fekir away from Lyon.

The January transfer window is a couple of weeks away, and if reports peddling in news and sports outlets are anything to go by, Chelsea are interested in signing the 25-year-old.

The Sun, according to Sport Witness, says the Blues are stepping up interests in signing the Lyon star.

Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri called the 25-year-old and assure him of a chance to play in the Premier League, for Chelsea, under his tutelage.

However, Sarri is terribly disturbed by interest coming out of the German Bundesliga. Bayern Munich is said to have registered their interest in the 24-year-old.
