Jurgen Klopp’s side has been blighted by a strings of injuries in the centre of his defence.
Reds were knocked out of the FA Cup third round by Wolverhampton, and key defensive figure Dutch international Virgil van Dijk was dumped out of their backline.
The strong defender was left out after getting socked by an injury. Partner Dejan Lovren has also been ruled out for a quick return adding to the woes of the Premier League side.
When asked about getting a short-term replacement for Lovren, Klopp infuriatingly dismissed that option.
However, it appears Liverpool are reconsidering that thought. Burnley’s James Tarkowski has been lined up. Tarkowski will cost the Reds a staggering 50 million pounds, should they advance further in bring him The Kop.
Nonetheless, ahead of the clash with Chris Hughton’s Brighton side, Reds have been handed a huge boost, as Klopp looks to recall Virgil van Dijk back in their heart of defence.
The Dutchman was pictured in training on Wednesday, and seemed to be fit ahead of their Premier League battle with Brighton.
