The midfield of any team is one key area that connects the attack to the defence and if gotten right, it will make a team very formidable.
Liverpool have built their team around Brazilian midfielder Philippe Coutinho, and since joining the Reds from Espanyol in the January of 2013, the midfield schemer has established himself as the best creative midfielder in the Premier League. However, the flamboyant player is injury prone but does not get to be sidelined for long that it would affect the campaign of his team.
Coutinho is on the transfer radar of Barcelona and they have made a whopping £72 million bid for him. Although the Reds have rebuffed the offer for him, the lure of playing with Neymar and Messi could see the player force a move. Should this scenario play out, we think West Ham’s Manuel Lazini would be the ideal and perfect replacement for Coutinho.
Liverpool would certainly recoup a huge fund from the player’s sale but they can unleash some of that on their long term target Lazini.
Lazini joined the Hammers from Al Jazira in the summer of 2015 and he has been their key player. He plays with the same finesse Coutinho is known for and has the ability to change and dictate the pace of a game. His ability to pass saw him gulp two assists and eight goalst in the League last term but he could be excused in comparison with Coutinho who plays for a team with more quality players.
Lazini has been a huge subject of interest from Arsenal, Tottenham and Liverpool, who have all had their scouts watching the 24-year-old midfielder.
The Argentine wants to be kept by West Ham but the player will never be able to resist the lure of playing for Liverpool and they should break the bank for him.
