Premier League giants Manchester United are looking at the prospect of spending big on AS Roma goalkeeper Alisson Ramses Becker as a capable replacement for David De Gea, according to the Mirror.
Manchester United goalie David De Gea is being linked with a move out of Old Trafford as Real Madrid remain keen on his service. The Spaniard has been in brilliant form for José Mourinho’s side so far this season, keeping 15 clean sheets in 27 League matches. The netminder was impressive in last week’s goalless draw against Sevilla as his saves helped the Red Devils keep all hopes alive against the La Liga opponent.
The 27-year-old has conceded only 19 goals in all competitions this season, and he is believed to be one of the best goalkeepers in the world.
Real Madrid have been monitoring the former Atletico Madrid goalie before he joined Manchester United in 2011 as a replacement for Edwin Van Da Saar who was about to put an end to his career. The Los Blancos came close to completing the player’s switch to Santiago Bernabeu in 2015, but the deal was abruptly closed on the transfer deadline day by United as they didn’t sign a replacement for the Spaniard.
Alison, just like De Gea, is having a great season as he has conceded just 19 goals in 25 League games, keeping 11 clean sheets in the process.
Alison, who joined Roma from Inter Milan in 2016, is also being tracked by Chelsea as their goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois is heavily linked with Real Madrid. He is set to cost both clubs nothing less than £44m due to the release clause in his contract with the Serie A giants.
De Gea and Courtois will be out of contract in 18 months’ time in their respective clubs. Both goalkeepers are reportedly set to renew their contract before the end of the season.
