Manchester United have been told by Lazio hierarchy that they won’t allow their influential midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, join the Premier League giants unless they receive an offer worth €150million in the summer, according to report.
José Mourinho has been a longtime admirer of the Serbian international but the Portuguese manager seems not ready to meet such huge price tag placed on the player by the Serie A club.
Lazio are reportedly set to make huge profit from the sale of the player should any team show interest in signing the 23-year-old midfielder.
It is yet to be seen if Manchester United would want to invest so much on any midfielder, considering the quality of midfielders that are yet to get much game-time under Mourinho’s watch. Ander Herrera, Maroane Fellaini, when fully fit, and Mktarryan—before moving to Arsenal— were unable to feature more prominently for the Red Devils due to intense competition for place at the middle of the pitch.
The uprising of Scott Mctominay could end the Portuguese desire to work with Milinkovic-Savic in the summer. The youngster has been in fine form for Manchester United since he his debut appearance in the current campaign.
Liverpool and Arsenal have sometime been linked with the player and both clubs might reignite their interest in him. Wenger is in search of a replacement for Jack Wilshere whose contract saga hasn’t been sorted out while Jurgen Klopp remains in the market, searching for a worthy replacement for Philippe Coutinho who joined Barcelona in the winter transfer window.
