Manchester United star has decided to quit club at the of the season

Spanish midfielder Ander Herrera will call time on his spell with Manchester United at the end of the season, this is according to reports.

Herrera arrived Manchester United in the summer of 2013 with the pedigree of top-notch midfielder. Nonetheless, he has been unable to stake a claim in the first team of the Red Devils, leaving him to play a bit-part role more often than not.

To further compound his woes, Man United signed Fred last summer and the Spanish midfielder fell further down the selection pecking order of Jose Mourinho. He has featured in only two league games this term, his best bet at playing regularly is away from the club.

And now, it is claimed by Spanish newspaper newspaper El Correo  that United will allow him run down his contract and leave as a free agent at the end of the season.

He has been heavily linked with a move to his former club Athletic Bilbao and it appears that it is now only a matter of when and not if he’d leave the fortress of Old Trafford.

He will be able to speak with clubs abroad in January but it is left to be seen where he ends up.
