Manchester United have been boosted in their quest to sign PSG attacking midfielder Lucas Moura after the player confirmed that he will leave the Parc De Princes stadium in January.
Moura has seen his playing time for the Ligue 1 giants limited to just 79 minutes in all competitions this season due to the acquisition of Neymar and Kylian Mbappe last summer. Unai Emery has huge trust in the new players thereby prefers dropping the Brazillian to the substitute bench.
United have reportedly emerged as the next destination for the 25-year-old midfielder but they are are yet to finalize their contract negotiations with PSG. The Ligue side were thought to be holding out for £35m fee but United are yet to decide on signing him.
While reacting to the rumor linking to Manchester United, Lucas Moura said he has come to the end of his stay at the Parc Des Princes stadium and he prefer playing in the English Premier League – which is the most contested League in the world- before the end of the season.
“Unfortunately, it’s the end for me in Paris. I like the English championship. The English league is the most hotly contested in the world,” he said
According to him, he will have to take his time to decide his next action over his future. He further told reporters that he will consult his family for advice on which step to take before the end of the month.
“I’m going to sit down with my family and see what God has decided for me.” Moura concluded.
Manchester United might be very busy at the later stage of the ongoing January window as they are linked with a move for Alexis Sanchez, Alex Sandro and Leon Goretzka.
The Red Devils occupy the second position in the Premier League table with 47 points, 15 points behind Manchester City who are the League leaders. The points could be reduced to 12 if they defeat Stoke City later today.
