Man United interim boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has revealed to the press that Marcus Rashford is his main striker.
Solskjaer traveled with Man United squad on the club’s warm weather trip to Dubai and he has made it clear to Rashford in the course of their trip that he will henceforth, lead the attack of the Red Devils.
This news would have come as a massive blow and surprise to Lukaku, who hitherto was about the only striker of the club.
Lukaku joined United from Everton in the penultimate summer on a £75m deal and he has failed to justify his price tag since then.
Meanwhile, Rashford has found his rhythm since the appointment of Solskjaer – he has started their last four games in the league and scored three goals.
Lukaku started ahead of Rashford in United FA Cup game and he was on the score sheet against Reading.
Since Rashford was rested in the FA Cup, it means he will continue to lead United’s attack in the league.
Under Jose Mourinho, Rashford received several tongue-lashes for his failings but he has found life easy with the new boss.
Although Solskjaer is appointed on an interim basis but his performance has left headache for the top brass of United, who are said to be interested in Pochettino.
