Man United wing player set to leave Old Trafford over Jose Mourinho’s criticism

Manchester United left-back Luke Shaw is reportedly furious with José Mourinho and he could be forced to move out of the club this summer.

The England international was criticised by the Portuguese manager during his post-match conference after their 2-0 FA Cup quarterfinal victory over Brighton and Hove Albion on Saturday. The 25-year-old left-back made way for Ashley Young at half-time as Mourinho wasn’t impressed with his performance throughout the time he spent on the pitch.

According to the former Chelsea manager, Shaw was a player with little desire to help the team defend and win the game. Mourinho further classified the left-back as a player who lacks the qualities he wanted during the match.

According to the Times, Shaw is not happy with the way he’s been treated by the Portuguese tactician since he took over the club two years ago and he is set to end his four-year stay at Old Trafford in the summer.

It should be recalled that Luke Shaw was criticised by his manager after the team’s victory over Everton last year when Mourinho admitted that the Englishman could only perform brilliantly as long as he plays with ‘his body with my brain’.

Having looked to have rejuvenated his United career in recent weeks, there were speculations last month that Shaw could be given a new contract extension by the end of the season but that looks far from being true after another round of criticism from Mourinho.

Chelsea and his former club, Southampton are reportedly monitoring his situation with the Red Devils as they hope to compete for his signature.
