Man United transfer update! Swap deal for J. Rodriguez almost done and dusted

A lot of attention has been paid to the infield players of football but if you rate a striker with the number of goals scored, you can as well note the quality of a goalie by the number of clean sheets or save ratios he keeps albeit the prowess of his defense is another thing to consider in passing a verdict on him.

Man United have had a history of world class and legendary goalkeepers, which is why the departure of Edwin van de sar in the summer of 2011 steered a lot debate as to who would replace him. However, Ferguson brokered a deal for the then Atletico Madrid goalie De Gea and  brought him to the fortress of Old Trafford.

The Spaniard has lived up to his bidding since completing a £17.8 million move. He has on four occasions won the PFA goalie of the year following his heroics in between the sticks for us but his stint with us has been cut short by Real Madrid with reports now claiming that his move to the Santiago Bernabeu is almost complete.

He was the prime target of Los Blancos in the penultimate season but a deal collapsed on the closing day of the window due to a fax problem. He is still wanted by his country club and Spanish Outlet Don Balon claims a deal is in the offing for the shot-stopper.

Man United are looking to offer de Gea in a swap deal for James Rodriguez which will result in win win situation for the Red Devils, per this report. De Gea is worth £60m and Madrid are understood to have agreed a £25m fee plus Rodriguez in the deal.

Keylor Navas is expected to come in as the replacement of the Man United transfer bound De Gea. Sadly, De Gea has been rated highly but he won’t live up to the legendary status he’s been building.
