Jose Mourinho’s obsession with established footballers was made bare last summer when he broke the bank to sign Paul Pogba from Juventus. If he wants a player, the price tag becomes less significant to his interest.
The deal that saw Pogba returned to the fortress of Old Trafford last summer was not without its own controversy. Reports emerged last week that that football governing body FIFA were investigating the shady aspect of the deal.
Pogba’s agent Mino Raiola Allegedly pocketed £41m according to Football Leaks , which led to FIFA requested for the the complete information on the transfer of the French star.
Man United executive vice chairman Ed Woodward is due to interact with some of the fans and investors of the Red Devils and it is being speculated that the transfer saga of Pogba will be brought up, as claimed by this report.
A quarterly meeting will be held tomorrow in which Woodward is expected to interact with financial backers of the Red Devils in a conference call. He will also address the press on the plans of the Club ahead of the coming season.
United have had an unimpressive season despite the amount of money Jose Mourinho spent in the transfer window last summer. The Red Devils are now where near the top four of the League and their only hope of qualifying for the Champions League is if they clinch the Europa title.
Mourinho would be handed and huge transfer war chest but the Club must avoid reckless spending as it does not guarantee trophies.
