There’s a cliche in European football that says “Real Madrid always gets their man”. The same could be said of Jose Mourinho who’s propensity for spending big in the market gets him his transfer targets.
Mourinho was heavily involved in the last summer transfer market in which he broke the bank to complete the signing of Paul Pogba among other marquee signings.
However, the display of United for the season has not been commensurate with the amount spent in the transfer market but Mourinho is being excused because he inherited a squad from Van Gaal that needed to be rebuilt.
In his rebuilding efforts, the Red Devils will now be boosted with the signing of Antoine Griezmann, according to report.
Griezmann has been on the transfer radar of Manchester United since the winter transfer window and he has now informed his other suitor Real Madrid that he will join Man United, claims the report.
United will see their team decimated at the end of this season with the departures of Wayne Rooney and Michael Carrick and Mourinho is keen to reinforce his squad with only quality players like Griezmann.
The Red Devils have also been linked with a move for other players like James Rodriguez but if we must sign these target, we might end up being the biggest spenders of the transfer window.
After conceding defeat to Arsenal in the Premier League yesterday, Man United have seen their chances for Champions League qualification through the Premier League vague. Champions League qualification would be a huge determinant for top-notch players to join.
