The Premier League kicks off next week and the Clubs are still scrapping for quality options that will make their boxes thick, Man United are not left out.
Jose Mourinho had bemoaned the lack of transfer activities at Man United but the Red Devils are now closing in on a deal for Nemanja Matic. Nonetheless, latest reports have indicated that Chelsea’s Tammy Abraham is also on the radar of the Red Devils.
Abraham joined Chelsea at the U-8 levels and ascended the grades of the Club. He announced himself as a star last season while on loan with Championship side Bristol City – he shone for the Club, scoring 23 goals in 41 appearances, winning the club’s Player of the Year, Young Player of the Year and Top Goalscorer awards and he caught the attention of several Clubs including Arsenal.
Chelsea were impressed with the development of the youngster and he was handed a five-year contract before joining up with Swansea on a season-long loan deal.
Abraham featured for his new side in a pre-season game against Birmingham City on Saturday where he shone and All Nigerian Soccer claim United had their scout Stephen McCarthy present to watch the rising star. Abraham did not disappoint as he scored his second pre-season goal in the game against Harry Rednapp’s tutored side.
Speaking after the game, the 19-year-old said:
‘I am very pleased,” Abraham said.
“I came here to score goals and help the team as much as I can.
“I have been in the right place at the right time and I am happy I have got my goals,” he added. “It was a nice finish.
“I could have had more but I take that and move on. We get ready for the next game and for the season.”
