Despite a fabulous impact off the bench in Manchester United’s battering of Paris Saint-Germain on Wednesday, the club remains unchanged about shipping Tahith Chong to gain experience outside the club.
Under caretaker manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, young talents have been given a chance to showoff. They had been tight restrictions under former boss Jose Mourinho who never bothered to look their way. But under Norwegian Solskjaer, they have been given plenty of chances. A big example is Marcos Rashford.
As for Chong, there have been heaping interests for his services. And United is understood to be preparing to take the bait. United want the youngster to gather more experience under the belt.
Chong made his first Premier League appearances in the Red Devils hard-fought 3-2 win over Saints Southampton.
But the club want to squeeze more out of him, and gaining further experience abroad is the only option on the cards. Dutch football superpowers Ajax have been credited with interest in the 19-year-old.
Chong was given his first debut in their FA Cup clash against Reading in January. However, despite being benched a number of times, it hasn’t stopped transfer request from pouring in from other leagues for the player.
