Juventus are riding on an unbeaten streak this campaign. They are ahead of the pack, eight points adrift second-placed Napoli. However, Massimiliano Allegri will need to beef up his squad ahead of the second half of the Serie A campaign next year.
Juventus already have an aging frontline and if the Italian doesn’t add a few names to strengthen his pack next year, trouble could spell out for the Serie A holders.
Manchester United’s Romelu Lukaku is on the Italian outfit’s radar. Lukaku hasn’t been sensational this season, nonetheless Juventus are already eyeing a move the 25-year-old.
According to Calciomercato, the Italians are plotting a move to sign the Belgian next year as they look to lay off Mario Mandzukic.
Mandzukic is on the wrong side of 32, and plans to replace him is in the offing.
Lukaku is on their list of targets to replace the prolific striker. Lukaku has notched up six goals in 22 appearances for United so far this campaign. His tally treks behind top scorers like Arsenal’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Harry Kane in the Premier League.
The 25-year-old is on a compassionate leave since Mourinho’s dismissal and was absent during interim boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s opening game in charge against Fulham. United routed the Fulham 5-1.
Meanwhile, in another news Juventus will attempt to bring back former midfielder Paul Pogba. But United is said to have killed that move.
